Google said it has developed a new general-purpose large language model called PalM 2 that can generate a variety of human-like text in response to human input. CNBC reported Monday that Google plans to announce the Palm 2 during its I/O conference this week.

The new AI-powered function will pull in air quality information, weather, and Google Maps will display the chosen route for users.
