Bayern Munich and Ajax to Go Head-to-Head on December 12

Football fans following the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League matches can look forward to Fussball-Club (FC) Bayern Munich playing against Ajax on December 12.

The winner for Group E will be declared on this match.

The deciding game has been confirmed to take place at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the home court of Ajax.

This development follows after Fussball-Club (FC) Bayern Munich has cemented its position in the knockout stage of the Champions League on Tuesday.

At the Allianz Arena, FC Bayern Munich’s home ground, the German team impressed by defeating Benfica Lisbon with a score of 5-1.

For the home side, the German team’s striker, Robert Lewandowski, and Arjen Robben, its attacking midfielder, both scored twice.

This feat guaranteed Bayern Munich to be qualified for the round of 16. It is an accomplishment alongside a match to spare in the UEFA Champions League’s Group E.

Ajax earlier moved ahead from the group. The Dutch professional football team won with a 2-0 score against the Greek team, AEK Athens.

Bayern Munich is on the lead in Group E. It has accomplished 13 points. The German soccer team is two points ahead of Ajax which has 11 points.

With four points, Benfica Lisbon has landed on the third place in Group E. The Portuguese team, apparently, cannot overtake the leader in the group.

This development for FC Bayern Munich is also welcome news for their coach, Niko Kovac. At their home court on Saturday, he was at the brink of losing his employment after the German team’s 3-3 draw to Fortuna Dusseldorf.

With nine points adrift in the Bundesliga, FC Bayern Munich is doing better in the UEFA Champions League.

This reality happened regardless of the 1-1 draw that took place on its game on October 2 against Ajax in Munich.

Aside from FC Bayern Munich, other teams who qualified for the UEFA Champions League’s knockout level are Real Madrid, the two Manchester football clubs, Juventus, Ajax, and Roma.

With one match to spare, these soccer teams were able to successfully advance to the final 16 line-up of the UEFA Champions League.
