Udinese continued their lackluster form into the new season having won just two games and losing six out of their eight games thus far. They are placed 13th in the league with six points. Both of their wins came at home first a 1-0 home win over Genoa and then 4-0 win against Sampdoria. They are coming off a 2-1 loss to Fiorentina last weekend. Samir scored the sole goal in that loss.
Udinese is lacking in their experience and leadership as several of their first-team players left the team this summer. Duvan Zapata, Cyril Thereau, Thomas Heurtaux, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Panagiotis Kone and goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis are all out or have gone back to their original teams. So Udinese is dependent on their new summer intakes- Maxi Lopez, goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri, and Valon Behrami but they still has to give a breakout performance.
Juan Cuadrado, Medhi Benatia, and Kwadwo Asamoah all started their Serie A careers at Udinese.
Juventus were held 2-1 by Lazio in their last Serie A encounter and the Juves now sit at 3rd spot with 19 points. The reigning champions are trailing league leader Napoli by 5 points and would be love capture 3 easy points on Sunday.
They are coming off a 2-1 win over Sporting CP in a Champions League matchup, with Miralem Pjanic and Mario Mandzukic each scoring a goal for the win.
Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa are expected to lead the team against Udinese on Sunday.
