Feyenoord will be without Nicolai Jørgensen when they take on Manchester City in their Champions League opener. The striker sustained a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 2-4 win over Heracles Almelo. Michiel Kramer is excepted to fill his spot. Also, Ridgeciano Haps is ruled out of the clash.
Feyenoord will be playing their fifth Champions League and the first since the 2002-03 season. Lead by coach Van Bronckhorst the club have never made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League in its previous participations.
City has performed exceptionally well in the new domestic season, which has seen them take 10 points so far and are arguably the favorites for the Premier League title. They are riding on a 12 matches unbeaten stretch dating back to last season and would love to add a win when they meet Feyenoord in Netherlands today.
Goalkeeper Ederson will be playing in Manchester City’s opening Champions League game against Feyenoord on Wednesday. The Brazilian had to take eight stitches to his face after being struck by Sadio Mane of Liverpool during the 5-0 Man city win on Saturday
