Is Josh Sargent the New Star of the US Soccer?

USA – Josh Sargent is a new prodigy in the soccer field of the US. After his excellent performance over the last couple of weeks, this kid is already capturing the eyes of head coaches and managers who are eyeing for the next star.

He was the one who led the USA U-17 National team into the World Cup qualifiers followed by the U-20s for the World Cup of the same age level. He is the best player of the Tab Ramos Soccer team and the one who made it so popular.

With only two games in the U-20s, Sargent already got three goals, and this is what made him very special. He has proven that he can compete with older guys.

He played in the competition even though he didn’t play in the qualifying round. Although some people became skeptical about this, Sargent has proven them wrong. Now, he earned his chance to become the second US player to participate in the U-20 and U-17 World Cup.

Although Josh Sargent is now becoming a star in the US soccer world, some are still unaware about this rising soccer prodigy.  So, here are some tidbits about him:

  • Sargent is from O’Fallon, Missouri. He also played soccer in the St. Louis Scott Gallagher Development Academy Club, which is famous for producing soccer stars such as Taylor Twellman, Pat Noonan, and Tim Ream.
  • His first experience in playing soccer for the US is from the U-14 training camp back in 2014. Then, he progressed to the U-15 level. When he reached the U-17, he joined the Nike International Friendlies in the year 2015 for the residency program.
  • He has already played in 29 international games with a record of 14 goals and 7 assists. He then helped the US national team to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup last April. He collected a score of 5 goals and 2 assists – 2 in the game against Mexico.

According to some reports, when Josh Sargent turns 18, he will be having a contract with Werder Bremen. He will also be entitled to sign any contracts if decides to.
