Olivier Giroud’s ‘scorpion’ goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on New year’s day was one of “the top five” goals of manager Arsene Wenger’s 21-year monarch.

Dutch striker Dennis Bergkamp showed excellent skills to pluck a lofted ball from the air with his left foot, take it round an astonished Matt Elliott with his right, then kept his composure to place the high ball past goalkeeper Kasey Keller.


Newcastle vs. Arsenal 0-2, 3 March 2002

Perhaps Bergkamp’s most popular of his 120 Arsenal goals came against Newcastle. When he swung the ball around his marker Nikos Dabizas with the instep of his left foot, before shooting past goalkeeper Shay Given with his right.



Real Madrid vs. Arsenal 0-1, 21 Feb-06

Henry made a name for scoring mindblowing goals during his time at Arsenal. However, his winner against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in 2006 is the first of Wenger’s favorites. The French striker took the ball up with back-to-goal on the halfway line, turned, outrun three three defenders, beat another,  scored with his weaker left foot.

Two years prior, Henry had set the prologue for his wonder-goal in Madrid.

Receiving the ball near to the halfway line with Liverpool’s defense ready to take him down. Furthermore, the Frenchman danced past defenders before loosen up his body and stroking the ball past Reds goalie Jerzy Dudek.
