Former Liverpool player Steven Gerrard has announced his retirement from Football after leaving LA Galaxy earlier this month
Steven Gerrard announced his retirement today after leaving LA Galaxy earlier this month. The former England midfielder joined Liverpool when he was aged 17 and made 700 appearances for the club before leaving to LA Galaxy in 2015.
While at Liverpool, Gerrard won the Champions League and two FA Cups.
The former England midfielder also made 114 caps for his country England as well as leading the team at the World Cup 2010 and 2014.
“Following recent media speculation surrounding my future I can confirm my retirement from playing professional football.
“I have had an incredible career and am thankful for each and every moment of my time at Liverpool, England, and LA Galaxy.”
“I feel lucky to have experienced so many wonderful highlights over the course of my career. I am proud to have played over 700 games for Liverpool”
