SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White had recently shown excitement in his involvement in the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match. He even called the whole thing as a one-off opportunity.
The UFC President commended the contenders, saying that they are on the right track to breaking the world revenue record for boxing.
Right after his statement, people have been asking if this means the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be promoting regular boxing fights soon enough. White has already been thrown a series of questions regarding this matter for quite some time. However, he never gives out a direct answer, leaving the audience more questions than they have ever had.
For some time, the possibility that UFC will be promoting boxing fights was nothing but mere speculation before his involvement in the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor. Just recently, he had admitted that he is now thinking about putting it into consideration.
White firmly stated that he had no interest in mixing up the Ultimate Fighting Championship with other martial arts such as boxing. On the other hand, he also admitted that he is taking the consideration of entering the boxing world.
He also states that lots of people have already been advising him to leave the UFC entirely and to settle for a boxing gig instead. However, he noted that his full interest still lies on the UFC, furthering that he won’t be leaving anytime soon.
It is pretty clear that White has passion for the Ultimate Fighting Championship surpasses all other interests. There is still, however, a possibility that White will soon promote boxing under the umbrella of UFC.
There was no mentioning of a clear date of when this will happen which only worsens the anticipation for people. Will this be a good idea?
