stage 14

The Tour de France 2017 action steps into stage 14 starting on July 15th, 2017 8:00 AM EST. This route covers a distance of 181.5 km beginning at Blagnac to Rodez and is a hilly stage.

After Frenchman Romain Bardet conquered the summit finish at Peyragudes, fellow countryman Warren Barguil followed that up by winning the stage 13 of the 104th Tour de France on Bastille Day. This is the first time in 12 years that a French rider has won a stage of the Tour de France on Bastille Day.

It was a four-man showdown sprint between Barguil, Nairo Quintana, Alberto Contador, and Mikel Landa in the final kilometers. And it was Barguil snatching the victory and has earned the Polka-dot Jersey.

Chris Froome finished eighth, losing the yellow jersey to Italy’s Fabio Aru. Team Sky’s Froome lags Astana rider by six seconds. German Marcel Kittel retained green jersey.

Stage 14 finishes atop the côte de Saint-Pierre in Rodez which feature 570 metres of a very steep route with an average gradient of 9.6%.
