Murray entered the semis beating Kei Nishikori 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7/0), 6-1 while Wawrinka knocked out Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.

Nadal, who has a record 9 Roland Garros title to his name defeated Pablo Carreno-Busta 6-2, 2-0 and Thiem silenced Novak Djokovic 7-6 (7/5), 6-3, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
