Giro d’Italia 2017 Stage 8 kicks off on 13th May 2017, 7:05 AM EST in Molfetta, the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia, southern Italy. The 189 KM long stage sees its end in the town of Peschici.

Molfetta, hosting a stage for the first time in the history of Giro. The route is entirely flat and straight roads in the first 90 km while the next 100 km consists of regular undulations, with several curves and changes of direction. Past Manfredonia, the route passes through the Monte Sant’categorizedgorised climb and then takes the entire scenic run all the way to Peschici (with a KOM climb at Coppa Santa Tecla and a midway sprint in Vieste). The stage finale is considerable difficult with a fast-running downward slope from 5 to 3 km to the finish, followed by a short flat stretch, up to 1,500 m from the finish line. The home straight of 200 m is on 7-m wide stone-paved road.
