Snooker: Judd Trump knocks out Ali Carter to reach Ladbrokes Players Championship final

Judd Trump

Judd Trump booked his fourth final of the season as he knocked out Ali Carter 6-4 to advance to the Ladbrokes Players Championship final in Llandudno.

As the opening four frames of the semi-final at Venue Cymru were fought equally, Trump pulled off a century break in frame six to lead 4-2.

However, Carter took courage and fought back to make it level at 4-4 but an 89 break prompted his British opponent ahead once again and he finished off with a 58 in frame 10.

The world number three will face either Marco Fu or Ding Junhui on Sunday.

In the morning, Ding Junhui silenced Anthony Hamilton 5-2 to set up the semi-final with Marco Fu on Saturday in hope to take out Trump in the final.

Seizing the opening frame, Ding continued his fantastic form throughout the match, taking a 3-0 lead with breaks of 96 and 93. However, Hamilton broke back with 68 and 80 to himself back to 3-2 before the Chinese number finished the match with runs of 59 and a 73 in the last to book a semi-final place.
