After three consecutive loses Florida fought back with a big 4-1 victory over the Washington Capitals on Saturday. Backup goaltender James Reimer gave an impressive performance by stopping 41 of 42 shots for his second victory of the season. Roberto Luongo remains out with an injury, expect Reimer to be Panthers’ stronghold again on Tuesday. Reimer’s backup will be Harri Sateri, a Finn who is set make his NHL debut.
Florida’s offense is led by winger Jonathan Huberdeau, who has at least one point in six of seven games played so far.
After the season opener win over the Buffalos, the Canadiens express had to bite the dust for the next seven consecutive games. Ready for their first of the three-game homestand on Tuesday, the Habs will try to give their all for a win.
Coach Claude Julien did some changes in Monday’s practice by calling up forwards Nikita Scherbak and Michael McCarron from the AHL’s Laval Rocket to fill the hole for Ales Hemsky, who sustained a concussion on Friday in Anaheim. Both of them were seen playing on the lines with Alex Galchenyuk. Also, Julien made winger Paul Byron, who scored a goal in each of his last two games, to play on the top line alongside Jonathan Drouin and Artturi Lehkonen.
