Montreal Canadiens Team News

The Canadiens pulled their game with Sabres to a shootout, where they won. The team had to do a bit of struggling. But in the end, the winner’s the winner. We expect the Canadiens to carry over from their victory the positivity.

The preseason performance of the Montreal Canadiens was not inspiring at all. Their first match and their regular season play style make up for any bad expectations.

The Canadiens now have Jonathan Drouin (formerly Tampa Bay). That gives the Montreal offense a much-needed boost. How well will it translate into a victory is yet to be seen.

Washington Capitals Team News

Nathan Walker is going to have his debut finally. He will be the first Australian to play in the NHL. Walker was not with the Washington team in their game against the Ottawa Senators (Washington’s season opener game, which they were able to win by 5-4). Walker has been long dreaming about this. He started in Sydney and then also played in the Czech Republic before moving to the United States. He finally has his chance to star in NHL. Walker was a part of the preseason games from the Washington team, however.

The Capitals need better defense. Well, which team doesn’t? But with the Capitals, the thing is that their goalkeeping has to improve. Goalkeeping is the biggest part of the defense and it is very easy to see how they are lacking on that front.

Alexander Ovechkin had a hat trick. He is coming off a 33-goal season. He is in great form and the game against Montreal will require his good form. Overall, Capitals have a better offense.
