The Rangers were dominating in highly competitive Metropolitan Division race for most of the season, but they struggled to get into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They were 40-19-2 on Feb. 25 but went 8-9-4 from that mark, on to end up 48-28-6 for the first wild-card entry into the playoffs from the Eastern Conference.
Coach Alain Vigneault may have a change to the forward lines he engaged Tuesday at practice, and it seems as though forward Tanner Glass will be in the lineup for Game 1 against the Canadiens.
The Canadiens won the Atlantic Division with a 47-26-9 record, going 16-7-1 after Claude Julien filled the shoes for Michel Therrien as the coach on the ‘day of love’- Feb. 14.
Paul Byron, Phillip Danault, Artturi Lehkonen and Andreas Martinsen all will be entering their NHL playoff debuts against the New York Rangers.
