WASHINGTON D.C, USA – The NFL players took over the field on Sunday, hours after President Trump’s latest Twitter posts. In his social media account, the president updated his status reminding the public about the importance of showing respect to the National Anthem.
“Very important that NFL players STAND tomorrow, and always, for the playing of our National Anthem. Respect our Flag and our Country!” President Trump quoted.
The post gathered various statements but other players still chose to stand up for the singing of the national anthem. Normalcy was then observed afterward. The NFL 1 p.m. EDT leagues are expected to bring astonishing results and unanticipated upsets.
The New England Patriots took a step behind the Buffalo Bills by 1-2 at home score and 2-2 overall during the AFC East Division. The New York Jets trailed the Jacksonville by 23-20. Moreover, the Dallas Cowboys now own against the Los Angeles Rams with a 3-1 standing, and the Cowboys are now on the Super Bowl contenders’ shortlist at the start of the season.
The Houston Texans won against Tennessee by garnering 57 points against the team while Deshaun Watson tied up a rookie record by striking five touchdowns. The Atlanta Falcons, unfortunately, lost their battle against the Kansas City Chief. This is the Falcon’s first ever recorded loss during this season. The New Orleans, on the other hand, shut down the Miami Dolphins through their much-reviled defense.
Unfortunately, major injuries among players were also reported during the 1 p.m. games. Falcons’ Julio Jones left with a hip injury; Viking’s rookie Dalvin Cook has feared to have incurred a ligament injury while Marcus Mariota, Titan’s Quarterback, took off with a hamstring injury.
Oakland’s quarterback left his team’s match with the Bronco’s with an injury during the 4 p.m. games. He was curled up on his back after being dismissed and did not return to the game.
In Tampa Bay NFL games, Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. was reported to have dislocated his finger before returning to the match. Beckham left the field again with an ankle injury during the match and the team lost the game to Bucs, leaving Giants’ with a 0-4 record.
