The Miami Heat team are ready to have their preseason win against the San Antonio Spurs. Hassan Whiteside leads the team in rebounds while Goran Dragic leads the team in points and assists. These players will be crucial to the outcome of the today’s game.
Whiteside has said that Miami’s new approach to defense involves “a little more switching” that apparently allows him to “stay around the rim.” Let’s see how it goes down and how effective the new strategy is.
Manu Ginobili of the San Antonia Spurs is retiring. This puts an end to an historic 16-season run. The Spurs were a really good NBA team under him and this means dire consequences if the team doesn’t handle replacement too well. The Spurs were hopeful that there will be a 17th season with Ginobili. Ginobili was a four-time NBA champion and two-time NBA All-Star. He was also a EuroLeague MVP as well as a gold medalist in the Olympics for Argentina. All in all, he was an internationally decorated basketball player and the whole world will miss him.
Nevertheless, the Spurs can’t afford to be demoralized now. They have their preseason game against the Miamia Heat later today and they will be trying their best to have a shot at victory.
