The Knicks were unable to put themselves together in their second game of the season losing 111-107 to Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. What was sad about Jeff Hornacek’s team was that it held a 21-point first-half lead in the game but the players succumbed to the final moment pressure. Kristaps Porzingis scored 33 points in the loss, marking his second 30+ score in back-to-back games. Enes Kanter added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks,
No. 8 pick from France rookie Frank Ntilikina, who missed Saturday’s game is still doubtful for Tuesday’s clash with a sprained his left ankle.
New York should be focusing on their defensive play and rebound role if they want to make a difference towards a win on Tuesday.
An injury struck Celtics captured their first time game of the season as they downed Philadelphia 102-92 on Friday night. Kyrie Irving led the attack scoring 21 points while Al Horford added 17 for the win.
Boston kicked the season without newly acquired Marcus Morris, who has been out with a knee injury. Then they lost big free agent signing Gordon Hayward to a horrific leg injury in the season opener. And then Marcus Smart, who missed the game against Philly is dealing with an ankle injury. Interestingly, the injuries have made it possible for the whole of the roster to add up to the games.
A total of twelve players played in Boston’s win at Philadelphia and expected something like that again, against the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.
