The Nets are coming off a 116-104 won over the Atlanta Hawks to capture their second win of the season. With Jeremy Lin out for the season, Allen Crabbe took charge of the situation as he scored 20 points, including crucial 10 in the fourth quarter for the win. DeMarre Carroll added 17 while Caris LeVert and D’Angelo Russell each had 16 points in the game.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was pulled out later in the first quarter due to an injury and returned in the final moments of the game against Hawks. He will be alright to start on Tuesday.
Rookie Jarrett Allen played 14 minutes and impressed with his defensive play posting a career-high four blocks off the bench. He may get some more play time on Tuesday.
One of the biggest games in Saturday night’s NBA action was Magic defeating the defending Eastern Conference champions Cleveland Cavaliers 114-93, ending a 17-game losing streak.
Nikola Vucevic led the attack with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists while Jonathon Simmons added 19 points coming off the bench and Evan Fournier scored 13 for the win.
F Aaron Gordon, who sat out for the second night in a row with a sore left ankle remains doubtful for Tuesday. On the other hand, G Elfrid Payton has been ruled out for the game with a strained left hamstring.
