The Pelicans after losing a 91-103 game to the Grizzlies in the season opener suffered a 128-120 loss in the second on Friday night. Pelicans’ power forwards Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins led the team in scoring with 35 points each while J. Crawford and I. Clark added a combined 27 points coming off the bench in the loss.
In the loss to the Grizzlies, Davis notched 33 points and 18 rebounds while Cousins had 28 points, 10 rebounds, unds and seven blocks. So with Davis-Cousins in control of the offense, all, the Pelicans need is to put up a strong defensive play.
The Pelicans may not be at full strength on Sunday as Rajon Rondo, Alexis Ajinca, Solomon Hill, Omer Asik, and Frank Jackson are all out for the match.
Lakers limped in the season opener losing 108-92 to the in-state foes Clippers. However, they fought back in the second game for a thriller 132-130 win over the Phoenix Suns Friday night. Rookie Lonzo ball was the man of the hour for the win as he scored 29 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and nine assists in the second game of his career. The second-overall pick hinted as him to be the face the Lakers in the coming days as crushed the Phoenix defense in every way possible. The Super Saiyan will be put test against Pelicans Davis-Cousins deadly duo on Sunday.
2016 1st Round pick Bradon Ingram is another player fueling the Lakers offense as he notched a career-high 24 points in the win against the Suns.
