Ending last season with the worst NBA record, the Nets looked furious in their season opener with Jeremy Lin at the helm but ended 140-131 loss to the Indiana Pacers. And most sadly, Lin fell out of boundary behind the hoop sustaining a season-ending injury during the fourth quarter of the game. with a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee.
D’Angelo Russell finished with 30 points in his Brooklyn debut. His shooting was unparalleled going 12 of 22 shots, including four 3-pointers as the Nets made 12 of 30 3-pointers in the loss.
As the Nets hit the court for their home opener on Friday night against the Orlando Magic, they will be relying on Trevor Booker and other young guns to fill lin’s gap. Booker notched 20 points grabbing 10 rebounds in the season opener.
