Warriors Tried to Defend Title From The Rockets

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets face each other in the live NBA season’s opener on Tuesday night. This will be Golden State’s title defense against what is viewed as their biggest roadblock for another championship.

With the same lineup of players as last year’s season, the Warriors are seeking to get a back-to-back title this year. According to one of the star players of the team, Stephen Curry, Coach Steve Kerr challenged them on how they can be better than last year. He said they would focus on the finer points of their defense that they built on last year along with Kevin Durant.

The Rockets beat the Warriors in their first meeting last season at 132-127 with double-overtime. The Warriors got back by taking three consecutive wins. The Houston NBA team are also reloading their lineup this season.

They went all in their efforts to acquire nine-time All-Star Chris Paul and MVP runner-up James Harden to face off with Curry and Clay Thompson.

Not only that, but they also boosted their defense with P.J. Tucker and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute to match with Durant.Rocket’s Coach Mike D’Antoni said that Golden State had “set the bar really high,” and they meant to surpass it somehow with his team that was third best in the last season.

They hope that the offensive pressure will ease up on Harden with Paul in the picture. Paul was hard pressed when paired with Thompson last season.

Unlike the Houston, Golden State wasn’t that busy, but they added three players to their bench. The Golden State Warriors also have three key additions to their lineup, adding Nick Young and Omri Casspi as free agents and drafting Jordan Bell in round 2.

Meanwhile, everyone is looking forward to the Tuesday opener.
