The Bulls got Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade back in the lineup but lost 115-97 at Phoenix, which has the second-worst record in the NBA. Chicago is 62-54 since the start of last season when Butler plays and 6-14 without him. The Bulls have hovered near .500 much of the season and are 2-3 on a six-game road trip that ends in Minnesota.

The Timberwolves hosted the New Orleans Pelicans, who were down to nine players because of injuries and illness, and lost 122-106. The Timberwolves had won five of six games to reach 19-29 before their recent slide. After a stretch of improved defense under coach Tom Thibodeau, Minnesota has slipped again. The Timberwolves have allowed 115.67 points per game.

Zach LaVine scored 24 points, Andrew Wiggins added 23 and the Timberwolves rallied to beat the Bulls 99-94 in Minnesota coach Tom Thibodeau’s return to Chicago back in December.
