The Dallas Mavericks looking for their first win of the season as they go one-on-one against the Portland Trail Blazers. Before this game, Mavericks lost to Utah whereas Portland was torn apart by Eric Bledsoe in their last match.
After a good start, the Blazers are currently at 2-3, with 2 wins against the Jazz and the Nuggets and beaten by the Warriors, Suns, and Clippers.
On the other hand, it is evident that Portland is a dangerous team. With the likes of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum on their team, the Portland looks like a robust team. Al-Farouq Aminu is good at defense and slashing but lacks in 3-point shots. Moe Harkless is an all rounder and Mason Plumlee holds the center position well with excellent rebounding and passing skills.
Their bench looks even more interesting. Evan Turner is a mid-range warrior with strong defensive capabilities and Meyers Leonard can hit 3’s, pass well, and finishes decently. Allen Crabbe is similar to McCollum and can take his place when called upon. The last contributor is Ed Davis who is a good finisher with a dangerous offense.
The key for the Blazers to win lies in Lillard and McCollum getting their flow early in the game. Also, the Blazers need to increase the pace of the game to secure a win.
On the other hand, the Mavericks need to find some consistent and reliable offense from somebody to win the contest. They need to stop Dirk from taking shots. Matthews and Williams need to cover efficiently.
