Gary Sanchez hammered a homer and added a two-run single as the Yankees won over the Tigers with a 10-2 win Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
Jaime Garcia takes the ball for the Yankees in the series finale against the Tigers on Thursday. The left hander has much to prove with his new team. In his three starts with the Yankees, he is 0-1 with a 6.32 ERA. He will be hoping to earn his first quality start with his new club.
The pressure will be on Michael Fulmer (10-11, 3.60 ERA), who will make the start for the battered Tigers in Thursday’s series finale. Fulmer is coming off a bad experience after allowing just an unearned run over seven or more innings but losing the game to the Dodgers on Saturday.
Fulmer has struggled through last few starts and in his last encounter against the Yanks he gave up six earned runs throwing over six innings. Can the 2016 American League Rookie of the Year save Tigers from a series sweep?
