With four early home runs, the Cubs already had an eight-run lead and then Addison Russell hammered the fifth and final blow to lift Chicago to a 9-8 victory.

Jake Arrieta will take the ball for the Cubs on Saturday, marking his second career start against his former team. After an under performed first, Arrieta will hope to start high the second half. Furthermore, his last two starts were one his best and worst. First, he held the Reds to one hit over seven scoreless innings and then he allowed three earned runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings against the Pirates.

Baltimore Orioles Team News

Orioles’s starting pitching has been struggling through the first half and it plunged again when Kevin Gausman took the ball on Friday night.  Gausman, who posted a 5.85 ERA during the first half of the season allowed a career-high four home runs and tied a career high of eight earned runs in just three innings in a 9-8 loss to the Cubs.

Wade Miley will make the start for the Orioles in Saturday’s game against the Cubs. In his last start of the first half, Miley allowed one run off eight hits against the Twins.
