The D-backs lost seven of their 10 games entering closing their first half.

The D-backs suffered a 1-2 series loss to the Reds as they closed their first of the season.

Taijuan Walker(6-4, 3.65 ERA) takes the ball as the D-backs begin their second half against the Braves on Friday night. In his last start, Walker threw a nightmarish spell allowing three first-inning runs in a 7-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. This will be his first career match against the Braves.

The Braves entered the All-Star break with the National League’s seventh-best record, winning 13 of their last 20 games.

The Braves were without Freddie Freeman in seven weeks and also their most expensive free-agent acquisition- Bartolo Colon, the oldest (44) active player in the major leagues left the team the Minnesota Twins.

The Braves captured two games in the four game series against the Nationals before the all-star rest.

R.A. Dickey is ready to make the start for the Braves in the series opener against the D-backs on Friday. After struggling through the initial part of the season at home, the 42-year-old maestro Dickey managed to cut down to just two earned runs over his past 21 innings at SunTrust Park. In his last four starts, he has delivered a 1.00 ERA
