San Francisco suffered a 5-3 loss to the Tigers in the series opener but they managed to nab a pair of home runs and a fistful of long flyouts ending the longest active homerless streak of Michael Fulmer.
Left-hander Ty Blach (5-5, 4.60 ERA) takes the ball against the Tigers for the first time in his career on Wednesday. In his six June starts, he has allowed at least seven hits on each of them. This will be his makes 16th career start and second against an Interleague opponent.
Justin Upton’s two-run single in the seventh inning helped Tigers to a 5-3 victory over the Giants on Tuesday at Comerica Park.
Daniel Norris (4-6, 5.00 ERA) is set to make the start for the Tigers against the Giants on Wednesday. In his last outing, Norris allowed five runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Royals last Wednesday. He has a 5.10 ERA and 1.57 WHIP since the start of May.
Miguel Cabrera was pulled out of the Tuesday’s game after six innings due to left hip tightness, invoking a previous injury. However, Cabrera is hopeful to play Wednesday.
