Before losing the series finale 8-2 to the Blue Jays on Sunday, the Royals had won 11 of its last 13 games.

The Royals will send Left-hander Matt Strahm in the series opener in Detroit on Tuesday. This will be his third start of the season. In his last outing, Strahm gave up five runs in three innings.

In his last start, Verlander (4-4, 4.52), he gave up three runs, four hits, striking out 11 before pulling out with a no-decision in the sixth inning in Seattle on Wednesday.
