Right-hander Jeff Samardzija will be making his 14th start of the season as the continue their series against the Rockies Friday night.
In his last eight starts, Samardzija struck out 65, walked two in 54 1/3 innings. He was slapped with his eight loss against the Twins but he pitched well, allowing three runs on four hits in six innings last Saturday. He is 2-1 with a 3.63 ERA in his seven career outings at Coors Field.
With his third-inning double Thursday, Giants catcher Buster Posey has hit safely in 21 of his last 23 games at Coors Field, including nine games in a row.
Rookie Raimel Tapia came out as the savior for the Rockies leading them to a walk-off, 10-9 win over the Giants on Thursday to reclaim the first place in the National League West.
The Rockies will send Right-handed rookie Antonio Senzatela to make the start in the second game against the Giants Friday. Senzatela will make his third outing against the Giants; he has thrown seven innings in each of the previous two. The young gun enters the match with a 6-1 record and a 3.18 ERA in his eight starts at Coors Field. He holds a 2-0 record with a 2.57 ERA against the Giants.
