Left-hander Brian Johnson (2-0, 3.44 ERA) is set to make his fourth start Wednesday as the Red Sox travel to Philadelphia second half of the Interleague series. This will be Johnson’ first start in a National League ballpark.
Jeremy Hellickson (5-4, 4.50 ERA) take the pitch as the Phillies begin an eight-game homestand Wednesday. The right-hander is 1-4 through his past eight starts, losing three of his past four games.
This will Hellickson’ first regular-season start against the Red Sox since his last regular-season start with the Rays in 2014. Hellickson is 4-3 with a 4.41 ERA in 15 outings against Boston.
He has given up seven home runs on changeups, which is the most by any pitcher this season.
Wednesday will see the return of former Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. to Philadelphia, which will be a boost to the team.
