The Indians are coming off a three-game sweep of Houston on Sunday afternoon which saw Yan Gomes posting a career-high tied five RBIs including a three-run home run in an 8-6 win at Minute Maid Park.
In Monday’s series opener against Reds, the Tribe will send right-hander Josh Tomlin (2-5, 6.86 ERA), who will make his ninth start of the season. In his last appearance, he threw for just 2 1/2 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits against Tampa Bay Rays.
The Reds are coming off a 6-4 loss to Colorado Rockies, losing two of the three games of the series.
Scott Feldman (2-4, 4.29 ERA) will make the start for Cincinnati on Monday as the Reds host the Indians at Great American Ball Park for the first game of a two-game series. Feldman has started against Cleveland six times in his career with a 2-3 record and a 2.72 ERA while limiting the Indians to a .224 average.
Zack Cozart, who has been down with a left wrist ailment over a month now is most likely to return to the Reds’ lineup after an off-day Sunday.
