Right-hander Luis Severino (2-2, 3.86 ERA) is set to make his eighth start of the season on Friday when the Yankees open a weekend series against the Rays at Tropicana Field. Severino tied for the shortest start of his career last Sunday when he threw for just 2 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs while taking a no-decision against the Astros.

Severino holds a 4-1 with a 3.26 ERA record in his eight career appearances against the Rays. Further, he is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in last four appearances at Tropicana Field.

Right handed Erasmo Ramirez (2-0, 2.92 ERA) is set to take the pitch for Tampa Bay after starting just once this season. Ramirez will move back into the rotation as Blake Snell was optioned to Triple-A Durham.

Ramirez has made 12 outings this season, with his best coming against the Tigres where he posted a win throwing five innings.
