Royal Rumble 2017 will be honored when The Undertaker steps in the ring on January 29 at Alamodome in Texas.
The legendary Phantom returned to WWE Raw on Monday night to announce he would be competing in the 30-man main event in Royal Rumble.
The 51-year-old promised that anyone who threatens to stand in his way would ‘Rest in Peace‘. Soon after the announcement, the Deadman was right away installed by the bookies as a 5/2 choice to win and take his spot in the main event for a WWE title at Wrestlemania 33.
Further, The Undertaker said that he has dug 29 holes for 29 souls and he will be bringing the dark side to the Royal Rumble match.
It is reported that this could be The Undertaker’s last ever Royal Rumble before he calls it a quit to his blockbuster career inside the squared circle. Undertaker won Royal Rumble back in 2007.
In the 2017 edition, he will clash on with a Brock Lesnar – the man who ended his unbelievable 21-match winning crusade at Wrestlemania.
The champion of the bout will get the pass to the main event Wrestlemania 33, which takes place on April 2 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
Mark Calaway with the ring name-The Undertaker is rumored to wrestle John Cena, in a fight that could be for the WWE championship. However, the fight will take place if the ‘bad bad man‘ Cena will beat reigning champ King AJ Styles at the Rumble.
Consequently, it will be a record-equalling 16th title for Cena if he is successful in just over a fortnight.
Indeed, The Undertaker faces a bumpy road to what is widely considered to be the Deadman’s final Wrestlemania.
Bill Goldberg, who destroyed former UFC star in just 85 seconds at last November’s Survivor Series, is another confirmed contender in the event.
Former WWE champion Seth Rollins vowed to win the Royal Rumble after declaring his entry on Monday.
With names like Braun Strowman, new US champion Chris Jericho and The New Day fighting in the Rumble; it is The Undertaker who will be the man to be taken care of.
