Actors who will likely take part in the completion of a reported “Mortal Kombat” film have been circulating online.

According to Revenge of the Fans, a website for superhero character enthusiasts, actors like Joel McHale will play as Johnny Cage, the staple of the Mortal Kombat series of fighting video games.

McHale has been known as the host for “The Soup” and appeared in the NBC situational comedy, “Community.”

Another revelation from the website mentioned Jennifer Carpenter as another possible cast.

The “Dexter” actress will reportedly portray Sonya Blade, the commanding officer of the US Special Forces in the Mortal Kombat video game.

Australian actor, Jordan Rodrigues, is reported to play Liu Kang, the Shaolin monk who joins the Mortal Kombat tournament to rescue the Earthrealm.

The first live-action “Mortal Kombat” film was released in 1995.

It featured “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes” actor, Christopher Lambert, as Raiden, the god of thunder.

“Wedding Planner” actress Bridgette Wilson played the character of Sonya Blade.

As heroes, they embarked on a journey as saviors of the Earthrealm, fighting Shang Tsung, the wicked sorcerer.

In 1997, a sequel was created entitled, “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.” The martial arts action movie featured battling against the maleficent Outworld emperor named Shao Kahn.

Belgian electronic music group, The Immortals, provided the famous techno themes for the soundtrack of the two movies.

Mortal Kombat is a video game introduced in 1992 and was developed by Midway Games Incorporated.

It is based on the creative imaginations of Edward Boon, a video game programmer, and John Tobias, a comic book artist and video game designer.

The player characters of the Mortal Kombat games include Jax Briggs, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Liu Kang, Motaro, Raiden, Scorpion, and Sonya Blade among others.

They are a variation of human beings, cyborgs, vicious gods, and good-natured deities. The horror fantasy-themed fighting video game expanded into a series.

They include titles like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Gold, Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, and Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition.

The latest game edition is Mortal Kombat XL released in 2016. This year, Mortal Kombat 11 will be introduced as the sequel to 2015’s Mortal Kombat X.
