LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Power couple Josh Duhamel and Fergie officially announced their separation in a joint statement last Thursday, September 14.

The released statement explained that they had to keep it “a private matter” before they decided to share it with everyone.

Just a couple of months ago, Josh Duhamel and Fergie expressed their desire to have baby number two. Sources confirmed that the couple has been trying to conceive since last year.

The ex-lovers did not give any reason as to why they chose to part ways, but they made sure that they remain “friendly” to co-parent their toddler Axl.

Coined as an odd couple since day one, the two tied the knot in a posh Malibu wedding in 2009. Duhamel stated in an interview in 2004 that he had “the biggest crush” on the Black Eyed Peas’ lone girl singer. He had also revealed that he had “naughty fantasies” about her, which then caught the lady’s attention.

Some critics find them really weird at times, but the two seemed to be an epitome of great relationship goals. They even devised the “Two-Week Rule,” of which they should do everything just to see each other for not more than two weeks. They discussed this rule so that they could keep in touch even with their hectic schedule.

They are yet to explain the reason, but Duhamel had a history of cheating in the relationship. Just a few months after their marriage, news broke that he had a one-night stand with stripper Nicole Forrester while the actor was shooting for “Life As We Know It.”

There was no confirmation or denial from both parties, but Fergie defended their relationship to their fans, stating that their love then “is a deeper love.” She added that they became stronger after the controversy.

The two has not released separate interviews, but either Josh Duhamel or Fergie would definitely be ready for a tell-all story in the coming weeks.
