OAKLAND, California – Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors seemed to be mocking the Cavaliers when he wore a t-shirt that read “Quickie, with the Q.” The shirt looked similar to the Cavaliers’ Quicken Loans Arena, or The Q. This happened during the celebration parade of the Warriors in Oakland, California last Thursday.
On the other hand, Green told reporters that the t-shirt only reflects the Warriors’ quick victory against the Cavs. The Golden State Warriors notched another championship against the team of LeBron James after a near-sweep victory in the Finals.
Green also told reporters that James was the one who started the concept of a super team and he has no right to say that he has never joined and organized one. This is amid the trend in the NBA when LeBron James joined Miami Heat with All Star players such as Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade in 2012, where James got his first championship.
Meanwhile, many fans and critics have also started calling the Warriors a super team when Kevin Durant was added to their All-Star roster in 2016. With this kind of trend, many fans are now referring to the NBA as a dynasty-driven league. The supporters of the Warriors who joined the parade and rallied for their Championship Title said that they expect that the crown will stay with the Warriors for few more years.
The “super team” lost the championship last year against the Cavaliers when Kevin Durant was not yet in the roster. They had the all-time-best postseason record this year with a record of 15-1. The Warriors also had a near-sweep finish when they won a 3-0 lead in the first 3 round in the finals before beating the Cavs in Game 5.
The team has a young roster including superstar players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. It is expected that their careers in the NBA will be lengthy. This year’s championship title was the Warrior’s second within3 years.
