39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors

The Kennedy Center Honors is a yearly honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. However, recipients do not need to be U.S. citizens. The Honors have been exhibited every year since 1978. Being held on every December in a star-studded gala in the Kennedy Center Opera House, Washington D.C.

The dearest Stephen Colbert will host The 39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, which will telecast on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 9/8c on CBS and CBS All Access.

Besides President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, a portion of the greatest names in entertainment will join The Late show host in honoring pianist Martha Argerich, rock legends the Eagles, actor Al Pacino, gospel and blues singer Mavis Staples, and singer-songwriter James Taylor. Moreover, each of the honorees will acknowledge the thanks of their peers and fans through performances and heartfelt tributes.
