The Vanderbilt Commodores are 1-0. The Commodores had an inspiring season-opener. They were 92-79 over the Winthrop in their home win. Now they’re away, unlike the Trojans, who were home in their win and still are at home.
We’re sure the Commodores won’t let this detail matter a lot. Darius Garland, the freshman guard, was the highlight on the side of the Vanderbilt Commodores. He led the team with 24 points.
Other players we will be seeing out of the three starting and six letter players from the last season’s roster are many. Yet, we believe Saben Lee would have more to give than all the others. He was averaging 10.6 points per game last season and we expect him to improve further this season for an even better average.
The season-opener for the USC Trojans was a 83-62 victory against Robert Morris. Shaqquan Aaron was the highlight. He alone gave a 9-0 run that provided the much needed lead to the Trojans.
Let’s talk about the all time series between the two teams. The USC Trojans lead the series 5-1. This is good news for the Trojans. We believe they have the necessary tools for the win this time. They can stack up the points quite early in the game and maintain their lead later on. The Trojans won’t really have it easy, but they will perhaps have a comfortable run if the players with the most experience and talent on the roster play their best.
