Marshall booked their second-straight championship game after dispatching Southern Miss 85-75 in the Conference USA semifinals on Friday. Jon Elmore led the scoring with amazing 26 points which included 7 of 7 at the line and netted five 3-pointers with nine rebounds and nine assists. Jannson Williams and C. J Brooks added 17 points and 13 points respectively.

WKU Team News

Third-seeded Western Kentucky pulled off a close 57-49 win over the second-seeded Old Dominion in the Conference-USA semifinals on Friday. Justin Johnson emerged out to be the saviour for the WKU as he scored seven straight points to close the gap for the win. Justin Johnson finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds to make his second double-double this season. Freshman guard Taveion Hollingsworth added crucial 11 points in the win.

Friday’s win has shown that Hilltoppers’ attack can also play under pressure as went up against C-USA’s best team in scoring defensive team. Head coach Rick Stansbury has brought real big changes in the team like momentum-changing plays, which have fueled the team’s offence. It will be a test of attacking power on Saturday as  WKU face C-USA’s top scoring offensive team.
