Arizona Team News

Arizona posted a 78-67 victory over UCLA in the semifinals on Friday night. Freshman Deandre Ayton was the star of the game, nervous yet lethal, the Bahamian young man finished the game with 32. Which included 7 points in overtime and grabbed 14 rebounds, catapulting Wildcats into the conference championship for the second straight season. Rawle Alkins added 15 points while Parker Jackson-Cartwright scored 11 points.

The overall team is playing their best games, with strategic passing and flawless timings. However, in the game against UCLA, Arizona offence took a little more time to take charge of the game in the second half. Hopefully, the offensive unit will be looking forward to playing ferociously from the start.

USC Team News

Southern California entered the Pac-12 Tournament title game with a spectacular 74-54 win over Oregon on Friday night. It was a night for 19-year-old Jonah Mathews who led the team with 27 points while Elijah Stewart added 15 in the win.

Even with De’Anthony Melton, the team’s best defender, USC’s defensive department have done justice to their parts through the season. But the Wildcats have some explosive young players in their squad which create defensive problems for the Trojans. Especially in the final moments of the game. However, USC may have already booked its NCAA Tournament ticket so they have nothing to lose going into Saturday’s clash. Expect fireworks for sure from both ends of the court.
