The Utah Utes are 4-3 (1-3 in conference) so far into the 2017-18 season. Their opponents for this game, the Oregon Ducks, are in a better form but quite a similar score. The Ducks are 4-4 (1-4 in the conference).
Utah might have recent losses and the fear of no bowling if they lose this one. But at least the team is playing well.
The Utes will be banking on the weak passing game of the Ducks (especially after Justin Herbert’s injury). With a mediocre run defense, the Utes will be able to pull off points every time of the game.
However, there is a problem. The running game of Utah is weak. This is something they need to work on if they want to bowl.
Utah is averaging 28.1 points per game compared to the 34.9 Ducks are. But here’s the thing. The Utes are allowing just 21.4 against the 30.4 of the Ducks.
We had high hopes for the Oregon Ducks. The way they have plummeted to the bottom is not something anyone expected. However, besides that, the team is in a better form relative to the Utah Utes. Believing we expected those things because of some solid reasons, we can expect the Ducks to have a clear shot at a win against the Utah Utes. Or maybe, the Ducks will just keep rolling downwards and it’s a Utes win.
If they lose, just like the Utes, it might mean no bowl. They need to improve their defense and revitalize the failing offense if they want to win this one.
Further, they can take advantage of the weak running game of the Utes. The offense on the Ducks is not too well, but it’s good enough to keep the Utes under control if they try their best.
