The California Golden Bears are 4-4 so far into the season. The Colorado Buffaloes are also 4-4. Further, both teams are 1-4 in the division. It’s not uncommon then when people have a dilemma of whether they should live, California or Colorado, given they have so much in common (and benefits of their own).
The Golden Bears are unique in the aspect that after their latest overtime 45-44 loss to the Arizona Wildcats, they are scoring and allowing the same amount of points per game on average (28.4).
The California team is toughened up. They had to recently face off ranked opponents. Sure, the game against #6 Washington Huskies was a disappointing 38-7 loss but the very next match against the #8 Washington State Cougars are an amazing 37-3 victory. Also, before losing to #5 USC Trojans 30-20 on September 23, they were on a three-game winning streak — a brilliant opening of the season.
The Colorado Buffaloes have the edge here. It’s rare seeing a California win on road in the conference. Buffaloes are playing at home. With the usual talents playing with greater motivation like Steven Montez, Phillip Lindsay, and Bryce Bobo, it could be a clear win for the Buffs.
The Buffs also want to repair the damage they sustained their last game. That game was a havoc. A 28-0 loss against the #15 Washington State Cougars sure is hard. The team will give it all it has to get a win in their game against the California Golden Bears.
So far, the Buffaloes are averaging almost 400 yards per game. They are allowing 422.0, which is less than the Bears’ 433.4. So, the Buffs are a better team so far in offense and defense. They just have to keep it up.
