This will be the 64th season meeting between the two schools, with Duke owning a 39-24 all-time advantage. Both teams met a year ago when the Blue Devils after taking an early 7-0 lead but fell 34-20 later into the game at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Duke is coming off their first loss of the 2017 season as they dropped a 31-6 game to Virginia. Duke was held scoreless and to only 125 yards of offense in the second half last Friday night at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Duke’s defensive line has been their strongest weapon this season, the unit has put out an enormous pressure on opposing quarterbacks through the five games. The Blue Devil defense has recorded at least 3.0 sacks in all five games. The defense is tied for the fifth rank nationally and takes the second place in the ACC with 18.0 sacks so far.

On the other hand,  the Blue Devils offensive side of the ball is still looking for consistency as the team reaches the midpoint of the 2017 season.

Virginia broke a road game losing curse last Friday night as after losing 20 of its last 21 road games they claimed a 42-23 rout of Boise State.

Quarterback Kurt Benkert has combined 49-of-69 (.710) for 728 passing yards with six touchdowns during the last two games. He picked the ACC Offensive Back of the Week and will be looking forward another great outing against Duke on Saturday.

Leading UVA’s defense is ILB Micah Kiser, who has posted 38 combined tackles, four sacks, one fumble recovery and three pass breakup in the last three games. The overall defense has held its first three opponents to a combined 6-of-35 (.171)
