The Golden Eagles are coming off a 41-14 loss to 25th-ranked Western Illinois in the season opener.
The only good happened in that match was redshirt freshman quarterback Andre Sale stint which saw him throw two touchdown passes as he completed a 61-strike to Darrius Stafford to get Tech on the scoreboard, followed up by a 52-yard scoring pass to Dontez Byrd. Sale finished the game with 223 yards of passing on an 11-for-22.
While the quarterback seems to be in safe hands, Tech’s run is in a grave situation as they were held to zero yards on 21 carries.
Kennesaw State lost 28-23 decision at No. 19 Samford to open their season.
Playing debut for Owls, redshirt freshman LB Bryson Amstrong proved his mettle recording both KSU turnovers with an interception and fumble recovery at Samford. He ended the game with seven tackles and broke up two passes.
Junior RB Jake Mackenzie had a career-best three touchdowns- two rushing and one passing. McKenzie totaled 75 all-purpose yards in the loss against Samford.
It seems KSU’s return of 16 of 22 positional starters ain’t working out well including four of the five on the offensive line, and six of the front seven on the defensive side .
