Georgia Tech would look to bounce back from the heartbreaking 41-42 season-opening loss to Tennessee when they welcome Jacksonville State in Saturday’s home opener at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Paul Johnson and company dominated Tennessee for much of the game, with unbelievable advantages in total yards (655-369), rushing yards (535-148), first downs (33-18) and time of possession (41:27-18:33) but fell out for two costly turnovers and two missed kicks for the double-overtime defeat.
However, the take aways from Monday’s loss was TaQuon Marshall’s performance. Making the first start of his career, the junior quarterback posted 249 rushing yards, the most ever by a Georgia Tech or an ACC quarterback. He also made five rushing touchdowns and 44 carries.
Marshall will be the man to watch out against the Gamecocks on Saturday.
