Portland State Team News

The Viking offensive captains, Josh Kraght and Darnell Adams fell flat in the opening game 20-6 loss to BYU. It will be interesting to see how they break into the defense of a team with whom they have never won before.

However, Vikings’ defense was commendable in the opening game as they allowed only 20 points and 365 yards. Also, SR LB Beau Duronslet gave an impressive performance with a game-high 11 tackles. Let’s see how does the active career leader in tackles (196) perform against the OSU.

Oregon State Team News

Oregon State also lost their season opener with a 58-27 loss to Colorado State but has high hopes in the home opener as under head coach Gary Anderson the Beavers are 2-0.

The only good from the loss against Colorado State was Jake Luton’s 304 passing yards and two throws for touchdowns. Luton becomes the second-most in most passing yards by an Oregon State quarterback in a debut.

Five true freshmen Tino Allen, David Morris, Kesi Ah-hoy, Isaiah Hodgins, and Calvin Tyler, all made their debuts last Saturday against the Rams and will be hoping to get some more play time the Vikings as well.
