The Wildcats pulled off a 100-82 win over the North Dakota Fightin’ Hawks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday night.

Rawle Alkins and Lauri Markkanen each posted 20 points to lead Wildcats as all five starters made ten or more points.

Alkins also made five assists while Parker Jackson-Cartwright added four and Allonzo Trier added three assists in that win.

Saint Mary’s Team News

Saint Mary’s Gaels won their fifth NCAA Tournament game in program history after defeating No. 10 VCU 85-77  in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament’s West Region Thursday night.

Jock Landale led the Gaels with 18 points and 13 rebounds while Joe Rahon and Calvin Hermanson added 16 points each in that win.
